Before the use of the computers people would have to spend countless hours reading thru books, encyclopedias and newspapers just to name a few in a library looking for information to complete an assigned school task.

Now with the use of technology you can breeze thru thousands of topic related subjects making it easier for all different types of students to get their work done. But also in a way it has made students dependent on this type of learning and in a way become lazy and more likely to cut corners and obtain information from other sources to present as your own.

Research has shown that technology has greatly impacted education in many ways it has given students and teachers the opportunity to interact from all over the world. Many studies have shown that students who used computer instruction and web based research achieved higher test scores and their experiences with the class were very positive.

These positive results improved as the students got older and they were more involved in other activities and their lifestyle demands increased. Technology can greatly enhance academic success but it also requires self-discipline and motivation due to students having more freedom and not as much supervision from the instructors when completing assignment on line or on a computer at school.

Soon we will be able to just think of something and it will appear on a computer or device, we will be able to have group discussions in a room in a room with all participating students not only voice but a virtual person sitting right next to you.

All students benefit from the advances in technology but none more than military and working personnel, it brings great flexibility and time to work mostly at your own pace. It provides the advantages of earning a degree and continuing with your daily life.
